Beryllium

Low density, high strength metal often used alone for light-weight structural material or as part of alloys of aluminium, copper, iron, and nickel.

Beryllium is a toxic metal that can cause respiratory illness.

Beryl is a major constituent of bertrandite, beryl, chrysoberyl, and phenakite. Beryl in particular forms many precious gemstones like aquamarine and emerald.

Highly oxygen reactive at high temperatures, making non-industrial refining difficult.
